The Path of a Trillion Souls

The Path of a Trillion Souls

Joshua Ive

Year 10, Croydon Community School

One day on earth, a woman named Clarissa was on one of her daily short walks through the neighbourhood and decided she should take a shortcut. She started walking down a back alleyway when she dropped her purse, she knelt down to pick her stuff up when she heard a click from behind her. She looked back and there was nothing there, she got back up and started walking.

Then suddenly something pushed her down. She scraped her knee and elbows and screamed. But yet again, nothing was there. She got back up and started walking faster. She started running but it felt like the alleyway was never ending, like it just went on for forever and ever. She stopped and looked around for a sec, she got confused. Completely out of breath she looked around a bit more and realised, she hadn't moved at all. She was still in the same place.

Clarissa could hear whispering. It sounded like the wind was talking to her, like she could understand something... or someone that was trying to warn her, or tell her something. She started to spiral, she felt like she was spinning... like she was being dragged around in a circle. Clarissa got her phone out, and tried calling her husband to come pick her up but when he answered her phone went flying down the endless alleyway. Her whole body jolted in fear, she was scared. She didn't know what was happening, she had no idea what was going on and no idea how to stop it. She thought she was dreaming, so she pinched herself. She didn't wake up.

A few hours had gone by and nothing had happened but the whispering in the wind, then suddenly a piece of paper fell from the sky with instructions on how to escape “The Path of a Trillion Souls”.

She read it and looked really carefully at it, the first direction was to look for a really dark navy blue door. She looked around for a bit and finally found the door, she opened it and inside was another piece of paper with more directions on it. She read it carefully once again and this time had to look for a dark purple door, she looked for a while and found the door. She opened the door and inside was all white and really bright, she went inside eyes squinting. It was so bright she had to close her eyes and feel her way through the small room, she came across what felt like a human hand shaped door handle she opened her eyes and realised, she was in a hospital room and saw that her husband had taken her hand and was crying.

Her husband Jeremy leaped out of his chair with joy and screamed “SHE'S AWAKE!!! EVERYONE COME HERE QUICK!! SHE'S AWAKE!!” Jeremy was crying tears of happiness and asked her if she knew who he was, she said back to him “Don't be silly Jeremy you're my husband. Now, Where am I?”  Jeremy and her family replied “You were in a coma for 3 months, we thought we lost you. They found you passed out in an alleyway.”
