The Whitlam Institute and Riverside Theatres invite you to an opening of Behind the Lines, an exhibition of the year’s best political cartoons by the Museum of Australian Democracy (MoAD).
Behind The Lines is MoAD's annual celebration of democracy and freedom of speech, expressed through the art of the political cartoon.
Join us for this special event featuring a panel discussion with journalist, and comedian Dan Ilic, writer, producer and story-teller Kara Schlegl and cartoonist Glen Le Lievre. The event will be hosted by Whitlam Institute Director Leanne Smith, Riverside Theatres Director Robert Love AM, and MoAD's Guest Curator, Holly Williams.
Inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, the central theme for 2018 is 'Curiouser and Curiouser', reflecting a strange and unsettling year in politics.
