In its first year, the Whitlam Government passed 203 bills – more legislation than any other federal government had ever enacted in a single year. The Whitlam Institute within the Western Sydney University's permanent exhibition A Changing Australia: The Time of Gough Whitlam explores how Gough Whitlam and his government not only reformed Australia's laws and institutions, but changed the way Australia sees itself. This interactive, engaging exhibition vividly recalls the dramatic and transformative years of the Whitlam Government, and brings history to life with a range of original objects and artefacts, as well as captivating archival photographs, film and sound recordings.

Admission: Admission to the A Changing Australia: The time of Gough Whitlam exhibition is free.

Opening hours:  Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10am to 4pm, and the first Saturday of each month, 11:00am – 4:00pm (Excluding long weekends and public holidays).

Location: The exhibition is presented in the historic Female Orphan School (Building EZ) on Western Sydney University's Parramatta South campus. Download a campus map for more information
