The Australian Schools Commission & School Funding
The seminar on ‘The Australian Schools Commission and School Funding’ was supported by the Theodore Fink Memorial Fund and was held at the University of Melbourne in September, 2010.
The speakers discussed the origins of the Australian Schools Commission and its place in the political and education landscape of Australia in the 1970s and 1980s. The issues of political will, and federal and state funding and policy arrangements across the different school sectors were examined. The speakers also explored the evolution to today's funding arrangements.
