Message from the Director
This latest edition of It's Time might be said to be Gough's Special Birthday Issue. Gough Whitlam turned 92 on Friday 11 July and just on 300 people gathered at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney to celebrate.
Gough Whitlam's 92nd Birthday
Former Australian Prime Minister Gough Whitlam celebrated his 92nd birthday on 11 July 2008 at a luncheon at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, hosted by the Whitlam family and the Board of the Whitlam Institute. The sell-out celebration attracted 300 guests from across Australia.
Gough's birthday, but we get the present
Though 11 July was Gough's birthday, he was the gift-giver. Mr Whitlam took the opportunity to generously endow the Whitlam Prime Ministerial Collection with a package of historic letters and documents that span his extraordinary political and public life.
