Latest addition to the Whitlam Collection

This eclectic donation dates back to the 1977 election, when Mr White was a member of the Double Bay branch of the ALP. His gift to the Collection comprised two items.

A fine bottle of "A certain grandeur" 1974 Vintage Shiraz was the first. It features the Great Man on the label though we resisted the temptation to check whether the wine has stood the test of time as well as Mr Whitlam himself.

The second part of Eddie’s gift is a Bruce Petty designed campaign t-shirt which evokes many memories of the time with its Star Wars theme and Mr Whitlam in flight shooting down the opposition.

These donations are now on display in the Whitlam reading Room at the Institute. They represent a welcome addition to the collection of materials held in the Whitlam Prime Ministerial Library.
