In or Out? - Australia and the Kyoto Protocol
As the world counts down the days until the Russians' ratification of the Kyoto Protocol comes into force, UWS International lawyer Steven Freeland asks when Australia will take a leadership stand on global survival and environmental law reform.
Frontline issues for the new Howard Government are the political difficulties of reforming Australia's federal structure. These formidable blockages must be addressed if we don't want to put up with fractured policymaking, buck-passing and waste in business and government, says George Williams.
Do you want to be more than a face in the crowd?
Calling all volunteers who would like to contribute to the Whitlam Institute's program of action in 2005. We would like to hear from historians, students and friends of the Whitlam Institute who can lend us help and hands. We need typists to accelerate the uploading of records to the Prime Ministerial Collection, we need event management support for expanded activities which will start in the New Year and secretarial support for mailouts and filing. Volunteer work will be organised on a project by project basis. At this stage we are asking for expressions of interest. Please contact the Whitlam Institute and send us your name, contact details, interests and experience.
High school and work - the big picture
