UWS history students launch research on 1975
More than 70 students will be preparing materials for the 'Days of Government' exhibition on this website.
Days are being added progressively to this exhibition on the Life of the Whitlam Government. Each day's report is a snapshot of political developments, media perspectives, social moods and historical judgements
www.whitlam.org is the portal to the most open and accessible Prime Ministerial Collection in Australia. The site as a whole is attracting around 700 visitors a day - and growing.
The 'Days of Government' exhibition displays an historic record for each day of the Whitlam Government, from December 1972 to November 1975. Each day contains a summary of what was happening on that date, an image of newspaper front pages, links to media coverage of the day, a link to Gough's personal program, and links to other related items within the Prime Ministerial e-collection.
The students will also write a 700 word short essay on the legacies of the Whitlam government. The five best pieces of work will be featured in a later edition of It's Time.
