Decolonisation of Papua New Guinea

New to the e-collection this month are transcripts of speeches made in November 2002 by the Hon E.G. Whitlam AC, QC to Hindsight: A Workshop for Participants in the Decolonisation of Papua New Guinea. It was organised by Professor Donald Denoon at the Australian National University's Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies. In addition to Gough's keynote address are the texts of two invited commentaries on issues raised during the course of the workshop.

The Hon Gough Whitlam AC, QC released a media statement on 10 June 2003 supporting Prime Minister Howard's proposal to revive the bipartisan 1959 proposal on disagreements between the Senate and the House of Representatives.

In it, Mark sets down a program for an ALP that genuinely speaks for suburban Australians who deserve a greater share of economic assets and cultural influence.
